With deep listening
and gentle acceptance,
we can transform.
Restoring Equilibrium
Integrative psychiatry considers all dimensions of being human. The treatment map includes body, mind, spirituality, and lifestyle. This includes thoughts and belief patterns, nutrition, relationships, life satisfaction, and feelings of connection. We can plan together to support balance at the root cause level. I offer thoughtful and collaborative medication management and support gently transitioning off of medication when the time is right. I can also work alongside your therapist or guide to support you with care that’s both grounded in science and personal to your needs.
Supporting Wholeness
We often view the world through the lens of identities born of unmet needs, protection, or external pressures. With compassionate presence and skill-building, these patterns can soften and release. Insight, awareness, and experience open to a new way of being — one that’s about feeling at home in yourself and home in the world.
When the old ways don't fit
Intense shifts in consciousness can both challenge our sense of reality and serve as profound personal transformation. These can be phases of inner growth where psychological healing and spiritual awakening intersect. Such experiences may include heightened intuition, expanded perception, powerful emotions, or a dissolution of personal boundaries. When overwhelming, they can create distress, confusion, or fear—thus becoming a “spiritual emergency.” With appropriate support, grounding, and integration, these episodes can lead to greater meaning, resilience, and a more coherent sense of spiritual identity.

The Modalities
We may call on
Evidence-based, adjunctive, nutritional psychiatry, lifestyle, and complementary interventions used in conjunction with pharmaceuticals as needed.
- Fellowship through Integrative Psychiatry Institute.
Gain objectivity and relate to thoughts and beliefs in a way that allows you to move toward what is important to you. Be available to live a more fulfilling life by taking action toward your values and goals.
- Activating Psychological Flexibility for Anxiety, Trauma, and Emotional Dysregulation.
A "non-dual embodiment practice" that helps us perceive wholeness from our wholeness. Because trauma is held in our body, our perception can fracture and cause us to feel separateness. RP practices open awareness and awaken deeper perception. Offering gentle guidance into our wholeness, making contact with areas that hold painful memories expands us into a deeper truth of who we are. With clearer perception and more capacity, we can bring more to relationships and have spontaneous freedom to be intimate with all we encounter. It's stabilizing and supportive for sensitive and intuitive people.

A mindfulness meditation system developed by Shinzen Young. It offers structured clear techniques that are applicable both in formal meditation and for daily life. It supports concentration, disentangling from confusion and overwhelm by tracking moment-to-moment experiences, and allowing stimuli to pass through without getting stuck. Meditators at every level can bring focus and flexibility into everyday life.
- Continued study and supervision
A body-mind therapeutic modality developed by Brent Baum. HMR is rooted in the idea that memory mirrors are stored throughout the body, not just in the brain. By accessing the moment an experience is filed as memory and reframing the emotional charge connected to a it, we can reframe and reduce the charge of a memory and shift the feeling of the experience. Without "re-living" trauma, the method uses visualization, imagery and verbal focus to support integration. You are empowered as the source of healing. Results can be quick yet gentle resolution of physical and psychological pain.
- Continued study
TRM is a body-based approach that helps you understand and gently shift your nervous system responses to stress and past trauma. Instead of focusing on retelling difficul experiences, TRM guides you to notice what's happening in your body and use simple skills to restore balance. These tools help reduce overwhelm, calm triggers, and build lasting resilience. TRM supports you in feeling more grounded, regulated, and empowered in your daily life.

Testimonials
Kind Words
“Deb’s vast array of skills and training gives her the capacity to see and care for me holistically—mind, body, and soul. I first came to her during a very difficult time in my life, seeking support in learning acceptance and building the skills I needed to move forward. She is deeply attuned, listening at the deepest level, and she helped me heal and grow into my strongest self.
Because of our work, I now move through daily life with greater awareness and choice. Deb is both intelligent and compassionate—an exceptional combination. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to understand the root causes of their struggles. She is truly a rare gem.”

"I've had the privilege of working with Deborah Volat as her teacher in advanced Realization Process work since 2019. Through our time together, I've witnessed her profound commitment to her own healing and growth. Deborah brings a rare combination to her practice: with 20 years as a midwife and labor & delivery nurse, full certification in the Realization Process, and deep grounding in embodied nondual work. Her background in attending to physical birth gives her a somatic understanding of emergence that informs her current work as an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner. For those seeking psychiatric care that honors both psychological needs and spiritual depth, this integration of skills is almost impossible to find.
